Vaughan is located in the Regional Municipality of York, just north of Toronto. Vaughan has demonstrated impressive population growth in recent years, achieving the status of the fastest-growing municipality in Canada between 1996 and 2006. It is now the 17th largest city in Canada, with a population of approximately 300,000. Three major landmarks in Vaughan include the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Canada’s Wonderland, and the Vaughan Mills shopping mall. The recently built – and architecturally impressive – Vaughan Metropolitan Centre also provide fast and easy subway service to Toronto.
